The terms classic and iconic tend to be overused, but the 1955 Chevrolet is a truly worthy of those terms. The introduction of the revolutionary small-block V-8 engine made 1955 a momentous year for Chevrolet. Also, the Bel Air received new, revamped styling that year. It was 3,456 lbs and 16 ft long. It was called the "Hot One" in GM's advertising campaign. The 1955 Bel Air was very well received. MotorTrend magazine gave the Bel Air top marks for handling. Popular Mechanics reported acceleration for a V8 Bel Air with Powerglide as being 0-60 mph in 12.9 seconds, plus a comfortable ride and good visibility. This particular 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air is a 2 door post hardtop. It has been treated to a complete frame off restoration complete with 350 CID ENGINE! The quality of the build and the attention to detail it was given is truly remarkable! The red and white paint mirrors the like new red interior with classic 50s styling. Under the hood you will find a stout 350 CID ENGINE with ceramic coated headers and LOTS of chrome, in an engine bay thats a true work of art. The 4-speed Muncie trans and Hurst shifter are a great combo regardless if you're on a two lane blacktop country back road or running down the highway. Just in case you're wondering- the undercarriage looks as good as under the hood!
