Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as we kick off our 25th year in the classic car business. The 1931 model sold for as low as $435.00 for a Roadster (approximately 22 cents a pound) to $625.00 for the Deluxe Phaeton.
The "Huckster" was not a Ford model, but rather a style of converted vehicle used in the early part of the 20th century. Normally built by converting a pick-up body, although most models could be used, the rear of this type of vehicle was often fitted with a wood enclosure which had plenty of space for wares. Normally, they had cloth or leather panels to allow easy access to the rear portion of the vehicle which was filled with goods for sale. In other words, this was a conversion built expressly for peddlers, or hucksters, and used for delivering small goods such as fruits, vegetable or what have you.
This vehicle would be great for display at a restaurant or Farmer's Market venue. It does run and drive older restoration but still shows well. The body is all steel and the wood is in good condition on the body. It has been retrofitted with a little later model mid to late 30's wire wheel and wide white wall bias ply tires giving it a cool look for sure. The engine runs good and it shifts ok and even stops fine but, It has lots of play in the steering wheel and a vibration while slowing down and a cracked window on the passenger side (flat glass) . We try hard to have as good a car as we can to sel but just do not have time to fix it. It is driveable as is or make a great Display piece at a “Farmers Market”. It is cheap for a steel car!
