For as long as most people can remember the Chevrolet Corvette has been the standard bearer of American performance cars. What is often forgotten is that only some serious scrambling by Zora Duntov and the GM engineering staff transformed the Corvette from a stylish cruiser into a serious performance car. Our gorgeous Polo White and Venetian Red 1957 Corvette clearly demonstrates that evolution. Beneath the hood is a stout 350 V8 sporting twin Edelbrock AVS 4bbl carburetors, an Edelbrock C26 aluminum intake manifold, long tube headers, MSD ignition, and an aluminum radiator with electric fan and shroud. Additional features include Vintage Air A/C, power brakes, 3-speed manual transmission, Stewart Warner gauges, a RetroSound radio with iPod/MP3/WMA playback, and a beautiful set of Kelsey-Hayes-type wire wheels wrapped in 205/75R15 wide whitewall radial tires for additional safety and performance. Also, this hardtop-only car appears to be one of the 931 examples that offered the auxiliary HT in place of the soft top. This is a very capable, entertaining, and beautiful classic that's happy to cruise around all day long, but is able to exhilarate with a stomp of the throttle.
