From the moment that Chevrolet's Chevelle was released in 1964 as competition for Ford's Fairlane, Chevy's intermediate became a sales success as well as a fixture of American car culture. With tidier exterior dimensions and almost as much interior room as Chevy's full-size Impala, the Chevelle was similar in size to the classic 1955-1957 Chevrolets and would quickly attain a comparable, cult-like following. Our dazzling 1964 Chevelle SS convertible is a prime example for the popularity of these cars: it is beautiful, comfortable, and fun to drive. Waiting beneath the hood is a BluePrint Engines BP355 Chevrolet V8 sporting BluePrint aluminum cylinder heads (64cc chambers, 2.02" intake/1.60 exhaust valves), an Edelbrock Performer EPS aluminum intake manifold, an Edelbrock carburetor, Hedman Hedders, HEI, a Be Cool aluminum radiator, and a March Performance serpentine pulley system. This smooth-running gem delivers 412 HP, 427 ft-lbs of torque, and countless smiles per gallon! Additional niceties include an automatic transmission, power steering, a Vintage Air air conditioning system, modern gauges, AM/FM radio, gorgeous white bucket seat interior, and the classic Rally wheels.
