The 400+ hp is passed through a HD Kevlar clutch (installed last year) to a BorgWarner ' World Class' T5 5-speed manual transmission, then back to a Ford 8.8" limited-slip rear end with 3.55 gears. The well-sorted chassis is up to the task of converting horsepower to speed with quality pieces including a Flaming River rack and pinion steering system, front and rear HD sway bars with Poly bushings, 4-wheel disc brakes with adjustable proportioning valve, and 17" Halibrand Cobra III rims with knock-offs wrapped in Cooper 275/40ZR17 high performance tires. The comfortable cockpit boasts amenities such as a Moto-Lita hardwood-rimmed steering wheel, an Ididit tilt steering column, a full complement of VDO gauges, a billet shifter with adjustable stops, a Sony stereo, and premium leather seats, doors, and dash. Of particular interest is the fact that this car's wheelbase is slightly longer than a Shelby (94.5" vs. 90"), which translates into more interior space and a superior ride without altering the look of an icon.
