Welcome to Street Dreams as we celebrate our 26th year in the classic and muscle car business. As the American automotive industry struggled with emissions regulations and the need for smaller engines in the late 1970's, things looked pretty grim for enthusiasts. One ray of sunshine, however, appeared in the form of turbocharging and Buick enthusiastically embraced this technology. In 1978 Buick introduced the Regal Sport Coupe with the optional 231 V6 Turbo and the rest, as they say, is history. By the time that this wicked 1987 Buick Grand National came along the bugs had been sorted out of the 231 V6 Turbo, and with fuel injection and an intercooler the overachiever now produced a whopping 355 lb.-ft. of net torque at a diesel-like 2000 rpm.
