The first generation Dodge Charger (1966-1967) was an attempt to produce a larger, upscale pony car based on Chrysler's B platform which was shared with the Coronet. Seeking a niche market between the pony cars and personal luxury coupes like the Thunderbird, the Charger was also Dodge's answer to the fastback craze of the late 1960's. With its unique styling and choice of powerful engines the first generation Charger earned its place in the pantheon of all-time great muscle cars. This striking 1966 Dodge Charger, located at our Shreveport, LA showroom, is a fine example of these legendary muscle machines. Lift the hood and you'll see the 383 big block V8, a well-respected engine among the Mopar faithful. Additional features include power steering, a TorqueFlite A-727 automatic transmission, an unusual 4-bucket seat interior with full length console, dual exhaust, original AM radio, and brand new wheels znd tires. Front and back tires are 275/40ZR17 and 205/50R17, respectfully. They are beautifully gift wrapped for it's next owner with new American Racing Heritage Design Wheels. The 5 spoke wheels are black machined cast aluminum for a classic performance look and are spectacular against the red exterior. These cars really set themselves apart with their unique bucket seat interiors and relatively low production numbers, which tends to increase their collectability.
