The 429 Cobra Jet was the top performer for 1971, with huge valves in special large-port heads. When the steep 3.91 or 4.11 rear end was ordered, however, this triggered the Super Cobra Jet package which included a solid-lifter camshaft, Holley carburetor, 4-bolt main bearings, and forged pistons. These fire-breathing engines had an 11.3:1 compression ratio and were some of the last true muscle motors from Detroit. Our Wimbledon White (M) '71 is loaded with options and features including the aforementioned 429 CJ-R engine, four-speed close ratio manual transmission (6) with Hurst shifter, Drag-Pack with 4.11 Detroit Locker rear end (Y), competition suspension, power steering, power front disc brakes, console, tape stripes, black Clarion Knit vinyl bucket seats (5A), convenience group, Stereosonic tape system with AM radio (now AM/FM), and Magnum 500 chrome wheels.
