Nobody seems to know for sure which Jeep (Bantam, Willys, or Ford) the Japanese Army found in the Philippines during WWII, but it was immediately shipped to Japan for analysis. It did not take long for the powers that be to understand the importance of such a vehicle to the military, so they ordered the AK10 to be reverse engineered from the American Jeep. After the war, Toyota evolved this into the J40 by 1951, and the rest, as they say, is history. Our stunning Cadet Blue 1985 Toyota FJ45 is the finest we've seen, having undergone a frame-off restoration in 2019. Beneath the hood is the numbers matching (2F866945) 4.2L I6 that's sporting a header and electronic ignition.
