Incredible "Barn Find" Pre-War 1940 Garton U.S. Army Tank Pedal Car

RARE Pre-War 1940 Garton U.S. Army Tank Pedal Car – Original "Survivor" Condition with Vintage Marx Machine Gun

Incredible "Barn Find" 1940s Military Collectible – Original Paint & Stencils – Includes Marx Anti-Aircraft Gun

Street Dreams is happy to offer this exceptionally rare Garton Toy Co. U.S. Army Tank pedal car, produced in Sheboygan, WI, circa 1939–1941. Unlike the common post-war "Jeep" models, this is the hard-to-find pre-war "Tank" body style featuring the high-walled armor design.

This is a true survivor piece that retains its original Olive Drab paint and most importantly, the original factory "U.S. ARMY TANK DIV." and "23-638" stenciling, which is usually lost to time.

Unique Period Upgrade: Mounted to the cowl is a vintage Louis Marx & Co. "Sparkling Anti-Aircraft" Machine Gun. This lithographed tin is a valuable antique on its own (1930s era). It features most of its vibrant lithography and was likely added by the original owner in the 1940s, making this a one-of-a-kind period-correct set.

The body is made solid pressed steel with authentic patina. No major rust or structural damage.

The paint looks to be the original factory olive drab with visible, legible graphics.

The mechanicals are all in good shape pedals, rear axle and wheels all intact and still operate

Why This is Special: Garton halted toy production in 1942 to support the war effort. This tank represents one of the last runs of metal toys before the war. It is a perfect centerpiece for a pedal car collection, a WWII military display, or a high-end man cave.
