This ultra-light portable outboard motor was celebrated in its day for its portability, efficiency, and quiet operation. According to the original 1947 Evinrude advertisement:
“Its all-enclosed Hooded Power construction makes it 'storm-proof' and immaculately clean to handle and to stow. A joy to run—with famed Evinrude easy, instant starting, Co-Pilot steering, and fingertip controls. Quiet... almost silent... with underwater silencing and automatic exhaust relief. Handy, dependable auxiliary power for sailing dinghies, Snipes, Comets, and all small sail craft up to 20 feet overall.”
This restored example remains untested, but the rope-pull starter engages and turns the propeller, suggesting it could potentially run again with a little TLC.
