As pickup trucks from the 1950's continue to soar in popularity it has become more difficult to find examples that are representative of actual trucks that people remember. Grandpa's old truck didn't have wide wheels, air conditioning, or 400 horsepower! This nice 1951 Chevrolet 3100 is a reminder of what trucks were really like 66 years ago. The original 216 ci I6 engine has been replaced by a 235 ci I6 which provides more torque and a superior oiling system yet retains the sounds, smells, and feel of an old truck. This venerable powerplant is mated to a 3-speed manual transmission with column shift, which seems to have been every grandfather's transmission of choice! She rolls on a set of brand-new 6.50R16 radial tires with wide white walls on steel wheels with 16" deluxe wheel covers. A charming little truck that can transport those of a certain age back through time! This truck is a driver, not so over-restored that you're afraid to drive it.
